## Requirements

- GCP account
- a configured Google Cloud CLI
- `kubectl`
- `helm`

### Install & Configure the Google Cloud CLI

To install the Google Cloud CLI, `gcloud`, follow these instructions or choose a package manager based on your operating system.

- MacOS
- Linux
- Windows

Use the package manager [homebrew](https://formulae.brew.sh/) to install the gcloud SDK, which includes `gcloud`:

```bash
brew install google-cloud-sdk
```

For more information on the Google Cloud SDK visit [here](https://cloud.google.com/sdk/docs/install).

After you've installed `gcloud`, configure project-id and compute-zone:

```bash
gcloud config set project project-id
gcloud config set compute/zone compute-zone
```

### Install Terraform

- Linux manual Installation
- Homebrew on MacOS
- Chocolatey on Windows

To install Terraform, find the [appropriate package](https://www.terraform.io/downloads.html) for your system and download it as a zip archive.

After downloading Terraform, unzip the package. Terraform runs as a single binary named `terraform`. Any other files in the package can be safely removed and Terraform will still function. Finally, make sure that the Terraform binary is available on your PATH. This process will differ depending on your operating system.

Print a colon-separated list of locations in your PATH:

```bash
echo $PATH
```

Move the Terraform binary to one of the listed locations. This command assumes that the binary is currently in your downloads folder and that your PATH includes `/usr/local/bin`, but you can customize it if your locations are different.

```bash
mv ~/Downloads/terraform /usr/local/bin/
```

### Install `kubectl`

To install the kubectl (Kubernetes CLI), follow [these instructions](https://kubernetes.io/docs/tasks/tools/install-kubectl/) or choose a package manager based on your operating system.

- MacOS
- Windows

Use the package manager [homebrew](https://formulae.brew.sh/) to install the kubectl:

```bash
brew install kubernetes-cli
```
