If I try to connect Rasa with Telegram, what will happen to databases and Rasa itself?

You may also need to host that on the Internet. It should be accessible by the bot. I would suggest you test it out and see.

If you have a domain name from Netlify, then you can use that. But if you are using an IP address without a domain name, then it would cost.

No, Telegram and Facebook all are free. You can connect to it easily. Please refer to the docs.

You can use the external connectors, here is the doc for connecting to Facebook Messenger. You can check it for how you can connect with other platforms too.

I thought you were hosting on your machine. If you have hosted your bot on Netlify, then you do not need Ngrok.

Yes, there is Connecting to Messaging and Voice Channels. You can check this out!

Then the best option would be to use ngrok, which lets you use your computer to serve your Rasa bot over the Internet.

Ok, so you are hosting your bot on your device itself. To make it available for your users, it should be made available on the Internet. If you insist on using your localhost, you can use something like ngrok to serve your bot over the Internet. The rest of the steps would be similar to what it is meant to do.

You need to serve your Rasa bot on a server and connect it using the Telegram API. If you are using Rasa X, then you can view all your conversations from all the different platforms in one place. You can use it on multiple platforms by adding credentials for the different chat platforms. See Rasa X for more details.

You need to get a domain for that address and use it like this:

webhook_url: "https://your_url.com/webhooks/telegram/webhook"

All these are shown in the Telegram documentation. For a walkthrough video, you can check the Rasa Masterclass video (Ep #11 - Rasa Masterclass) Connecting an assistant to external APIs.

NLU training data entity format

I use the ones without the quotes. I do not remember using quotes in the previous Rasa version.

FAQ chatbot for events, businesses etc.

Here are some ideas that I think would be useful:

How do you handle this situation for a restaurant reservation bot?

If the user input is "I want to book a table for 3 people," then the bot should ask if the slot is filled with the number of people. If the user only says, "I want to book a table," the bot should ask, "How many people?" If the slot is filled, then the bot can straight away book the table.

Rasa Community Kerala (India)

Hi RASA Kerala community, Have not seen any RASA community activity in Kerala. Most people are trying to learn new technologies during this time. Maybe we could organize an online event?

What is the recommended approach for handling different entities?

Thanks for the solution @Juste. I think this is the perfect solution for my use case. I am totally new to RASA; that is why I am always asking questions at the forum. Thanks for the help!

Unable to use interactive learning Rasa X

I am not able to use the interactive training feature on RASA X. I have deployed it using docker-compose on GCP and have connected it to Telegram with the latest version of RASA.

Here is a GIF showing the bug:

How to connect Rasa with Telegram

I do not know if there is a workaround for that. You can check for other ways from a domain provider. I would suggest you try that. There would be some way!

Yes, it will cost some money (not very much unless your domain is really popular) to get the domain and you can get an SSL Certificate for free which will move your domain from HTTP to HTTPS. You would need a domain and the SSL certificate to connect to the Telegram platform.
