I’m Varun and I’m a data scientist at Freshworks which is an Enterprise SaaS customer engagement company. I have been working on chatbots for over a year. We started off with an FAQ retrieval bot and I’m currently working on building conversational chatbots for a variety of usecases. I have been playing around with FSMs for dialog management and that’s when I stumbled upon Rasa. Rasa’s dialog management framework is simple to use with immense scope for customization which’s amazing.

My name is Alan Niemies, I’m a brazilian physician and before that, I was a PHP/HTML/CSS programmer focused mainly in website development and SEO. I’m now interested in using Rasa to start exploring how chatbots and NLP could be used to help in reducing health costs through some interesting interventions.

Hi @Juste, and thanks for welcoming! The book is Building Chatbots with Python, by Sumit Raj. It is a somewhat short book (about 200 pages), and it covers Spacy (chapter 2), DialogFlow (chapter 3) and Rasa NLU (chapter 4). Cheers!

I’m Brandon “Bub” Janes, originally from Austin, Texas but now living in Córdoba, Argentina where I work as a python developer in data science and artificial intelligence for a company called Kunan, which specializes in Open Source software.
My background is in journalism. I wrote for several Texas newspapers before moving to Argentina, and I had a blog about Freedom of Information and Freedom of Expression issues, www.newstramp.com. I also love math and playing the fiddle.
In 2019, while taking a course in computational linguistics at the Universidad de Córdoba, I stumbled onto Rasa. It seemed to answer all of my problems at once; LSTM, dialogue manager and it’s open source! I am now building virtual assistants for companies in Argentina and beyond. I have big plans in 2020, among them contributing to the cause of conversational AI for Rasa.

Hi buddies, this is Kiran, I am working as data science enabler at CallHealth, technology enabled healthcare startup in India, CallHealth trying to provide health care services across the corners of India, I am building a chatbot which can handle multiple user queries and guide them to relevant services as quickly as possible, I used to work on building flows and dialogues in js but I’m familiar with python, so I one of my colleague suggested me RASA, I am contributing to RASA now, I made few tutorials which can explain how to use RASA endpoints using Postman, I am also contributing in GitHub docs to give clear guidance to new users of RASA about intent building, custom entity recognition etc. Great thought and looking forward to hear more from RASA.

Hi everyone,
I am Lore, living in Leuven (Belgium). Been developing chatbots for approx. 3years now! First started developing chatbots with Microsoft Bot Framework, then tried all low-code/no-code solutions from Belgium, but still… didn’t find what I am looking for! Since the starts I am always looking for ways how to make “the life of a chatbot developer” more efficient
Informing people about the possibilities and the manual work when developing a chatbot is one thing! But I try to achieve more efficiency by applying best practice methodologies like Service Design, Design Sprint, because hey… It is impossible to predict what endusers think and how they will talk to your chatbot, so putting them in contact with your chatbot asap is still an underestimated statement! Next to this, I am working on some custom tools to enable this more efficient workflow (from labelling to testing, very similar to RASA X, so keeping a close eye on that one!).
Met RASA 1,5years ago at chatbot summit in Berlin. For me, you stood out from the competition as the only framework paying attention to the “afterwork” (i.e. monitoring & maintenance of your chatbot solution). However, at our company we were Microsoft tech. based only so didn’t have the chance to work with RASA. Bumped into you again a couple of months ago and truly impressed by the evolution! For me RASA is the first framework that convinces me developing a chatbot can be efficient! Congrats, I think we can have lots of fun together!

Hi Everyone! My name is Swapratim Roy. I am working in full stack IT & automation (previously with big MNC & now a startup) for around 10 years now. I started learning and working with Chatbot since 2017 and worked with wit.ai, Chatfuel and mainly Dialogflow. I found Rasa few months back and since then loving its simplicity and real ML control over while creating bots. I’m still learning everyday. Apart from that, I feel humbled to be a part of a lovely and super active & helpful Rasa community. Miles to go Rasa team - so much potential it holds.
Currently I’m working on to create a bot platform for customer service to bring AI & ML to Danish market. Although I’m from India but currently I’m based in Denmark.

Hope you are doing well. I tried your tutorial on creating a weatherbot using rasa. I proceeded similarly as directed by you in the video. Everything was going fine. But when I run “npm i -g rasa-nlu-trainer”, its giving me errors. The error file is attached with this message. I’m using windows 10.

We are building a escalation response chat bot for our global reporting system. I have a question about best practices for storing models. We are training 6 chatbots - do we dedicate 6 instances or just one instance for all models? Any concerns about performance? Love to hear your thoughts on this.

Hi All! I work with Accenture as a Software Developer. Digging into Data Science lately. I’m a Big Data engineer. Now, I’m trying to expand my skills in NLP, so as a hobby, I started learning RASA last three weeks ago. I have successfully deployed my project on Facebook messenger and let my friends use it.
Anya-bot
This is simple information Conversational AI that discusses stuffs about the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines. Of course, it talks my native language which is Tagalog.
Features
- Defines COVID-19
- Symptoms of COVID-19
- Latest total cases, deaths and recoveries
- Provides COVID-19 emergency hotlines
- Random questions about COVID
Architecture
- Run rasa components via Jenkins build
- Scrape latest cases using selenium and save results to lookup rather than using BeautifulSoup every time (this will help your bot return the count of cases faster)
- Scraping is cronned every 30 minutes in Jenkins since it doesn’t need to be super real-time.
Future
- Add another Filipino native language which is Ilokano
Challenges
- tweaking of the built-in pipeline since I’m using building a model from scratch
- there different intents entities for simple question in Tagalog since some of our words can be shortened in several ways
- model training takes about 2-3 hrs.
- I’m using a “just good” laptop
- hosting it locally (ngrok) since I’m not yet knowledgeable on how to deploy it (I have an AWS with 12 months free to tho I don’t now how to set it up XD)

am not sure if i get your question right, but i undrestand that you need to measure time before the query until the end, i think it depends mostly about what action actions you are willing to execute some of actions needs more time than others, and that affect the time of wait … i dont think that i get your point so please post your question on forum as new topic so you can get help from rasa’s team or any others contributers. hope you get your answers

Hello everyone ! My name is Derguene Mbaye, I am from Senegal in West Africa! I am a Telecommunications & Networks engineer, passionate about technology, mainly artificial intelligence. I co-founded with friends the first and largest community of Data Science enthusiasts in Senegal called GalsenAI and I also joined other structures such as BlackInAI or Masakhane where I participate in a data collection project and Dataset cleanup for Named Entity Recognition for the Wolof language (language mainly spoken in Senegal). I discovered Rasa during my end-of-study internship where I had to set up a chatbot serving as alternatives to USSD technology for local telecommunications operators. The chatbot is currently in place and accessible via Whatsapp (thanks to Twilio and AWS) although there are still improvements to be made. I have thus developed a great interest in NLP mainly dialogue systems and I would very much like to start research in this field afterward and contribute enormously to the RASA project which helped me a lot in my internship.
