Guidelines - Rasa Community Forum

Welcome to the Rasa Community!

At Rasa, our mission is to empower all makers to create AI assistants that work for everyone. To achieve this, we believe it’s imperative that we grow our community of makers and professionals from all around the world with different backgrounds and levels of experience in conversational AI. To empower you, our community with the means to excel in your projects through the sharing of knowledge, and support you in finding solutions to any obstacles in your path.

To achieve these goals, we ask that everyone participates in such a way that promotes a friendly, positive experience for our global community.

To that end, we will be working hard to ensure that we align our actions with that purpose. In addition to our Terms of Service, we provide the following guidelines for our community. This Code of Conduct should not only help you understand how to act within the community but also help you to understand what to expect from others in this space.

Examples of Great Behaviour

Respect and Be Excellent to Each Other

The base of every great community is mutual respect and trust. Having strong opinions on topics is completely understandable and acceptable. In fact, we encourage people to be passionate about the project. We welcome sharp, factual feedback and valuable discussions, but not abusive criticism, attacks on people in a derogatory form or discussions of merely contentious nature.

Therefore, abide by the following:

Be Patient with Our Team and Each Other

Our team at Rasa are actively involved in our community forum, from answering your questions, helping to resolve technical blockers, or iterating on new ideas. At the same time, they are working hard to achieve our mission at Rasa. If our developers don’t respond right away, it’s probably because they are working on something for you!

Therefore, please be aware of the following:

Keep Things Tidy

Keeping things tidy will help everyone to locate discussions that include relevant information much faster, which in turn will also help you get a quicker response.

Therefore, please be aware of the following:

Approach Matters Constructively

To keep our forums a valuable platform for sharing your thoughts, feedback and content, we would like to remind you to apply common courtesy when posting. Disagreements, both social and technical, happen all the time. It is important that we resolve disagreements and differing views constructively. Let’s focus on working together to resolve issues, learning from mistakes and finding solutions.

Therefore, abide by the following:

Abide by the Law

There is not much worse than spending hours, days, weeks or even months working hard on something, putting a great deal of effort into it for someone to swoop in and pass it off as their own.

Therefore, abide by the following:

Reporting

If you have any questions about how to interpret our code of conduct and how they might apply to your particular case, or if you come across any unacceptable behavior that has not otherwise been resolved through the report flagging feature - please send them to community@rasa.com.

Enforcement

We take reports seriously; those that do not follow the Code of Conduct may face repercussions at the full discretion of our moderation team.

Here is a short overview of how we deal with misconduct:

  1. Warning: For the majority of cases whereby someone breaks the code of conduct, we will remove the content in question and send a warning. This is where most cases are resolved.
  2. Suspension: For repeatedly breaking the Code of Conduct, or being disrespectful we will enforce a temporary suspension or silence. The amount of time will depend on the severity of the case.
  3. Removal: We will remove and ban those who demonstrate a pattern of destructive behavior towards our community. These are very rare cases.

This is considered a living document that we regularly update based on the evolution of the Rasa community.
